Hello there!

Nicole Gulotta

MFA, Poetry | Vermont College of Fine Arts
BA, Literature | University of California, Santa Barbara

In the past decade, I've worn many hats including grantmaker, fundraiser, program manager, event planner, content developer, social media guru, digital marketer, and editor. But really, I’m in the business of storytelling.

I’m a writer of books, which is the first thing I can ever remember wanting to do in life. My first, Eat This Poem: A Literary Feast of Recipes Inspired by Poetry was published by Roost Books in 2017, and inspired by my blog of the same name. My next book is forthcoming from Roost Books in 2019. Wild Words: Routines, Rituals, and Rhythms for Braving the Writer’s Path is part memoir and part spirit guide, encouraging you to embrace life’s ever-shifting creative seasons.

Over the last few years (and especially since becoming a mother), I’ve been exploring what it looks like to create and keep a sustainable writing practice. What does this look like? Think removing emotional obstacles, starting projects that nourish the soul (like blogs, books, stories, and online communities), and applying the same professional development mindset from your career to your creativity.

Elsewhere, I'm a columnist for Life & Thyme Magazineand my work has been featured in Remedy Quarterly, The Write Life, Positive Writer, Motherly, and numerous guest posts.

In addition to my husband, son, and French bulldog, juicy strawberries and a good musical are also loves of mine.
